Trevarren Flats. A cornerstone of redevelopment in Walnut Hills.

The Model Group and Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation had a vision for the restoration of three historic buildings in this up-and-coming area of Cincinnati. Trevarren Flats would become a catalyst for redevelopment in the area, turning three vacant Victorian buildings into mixed-use development offering 30 apartments and 7,200 square feet of first-floor retail.

Built in 1895, the buildings required structural stabilization from years of water damage and neglect. Renovation followed with complex cost management issues. EBS applied Appropriate Design to balance the tasks of Chapter 34 compliance, historic tax credits, and life safety, all while meeting budget constraints.
